A little bit about the place
Rajmachi fort was constructed in the 17th century by Shivaji during the seventeenth century. It is situated in the Sahyadri mountain range that lies to the west of the ghat. It is situated in the karjat region.
The fort is located 2700 feet high, based on elevation, making it a tiny and stunning hike. It is among the most sought-after trekking routes during monsoons.
The Rajmachi fort is located on the Mumbai to Pune route. You can get there easily as the two cities are both well connected across India. When you arrive in Mumbai you could take an express train to Pune and stop at Karjat from where you could travel by tum-tum or as a shared car to reach the village of Kondhane. It is the place where we begin the beginning of our trek. It’ll take about 3-4 hours for one way, and another to get back.
Another alternative that is more efficient than the previous one is to take the local train between Pune and Lonavala where you can choose two routes to reach Bhiwadi which is the base village within Rajmachi fort. You choose to travel via Lonavala to kunhe village, then Della adventure park, and then get to udhewadi, or you can take Lonavala and Hungary to Mindanao, then to udhewadi.
If you’re traveling on your own then you should take the Della park route if you are traveling on your own. della park route as it’s a little established compared to the Hungary route.
Another option to reach udhewadi is to drive directly up there, however during the monsoon time, it’s extremely difficult due to the road conditions, so you could drive up to fans are which it’s about 6.2 km to the village of base udhewadi.
If you’re a novice and are not experienced in treks and you aren’t certain whether you can take a long walk, then head for the Lonavala trek to udhewadi from where you could begin your trek. However, if you are a seasoned hiker, to your previous experience, you can go to condone village since the view is simply breathtaking.
